Way Home

Way Home (1994), written by Libby Hathorn and illustrated by Gregory Rogers, follows a homeless boy named Shane as he walks through the city at night. In an alley, he finds a frightened stray kitten and decides to take it home with him. Carrying the cat inside his jacket, Shane travels through dark streets filled with dangers, including a gang of boys, heavy traffic, and a fierce dog.
