My Olive Tree (2024), written by Hazar Elbayya, follows a young girl named Salam who learns from her grandfather about the deep roots and meaning of the olive tree in their homeland, Palestine. Inspired, she plants her own olive seed and patiently nurtures it, watching it grow and caring for it with love and hope. When the peace of her surroundings is suddenly disrupted, Salam’s small tree is damaged, and she feels the weight of loss. Guided by her grandfather, Salam and her community come together to plant new olive trees, showing how care, memory, and unity can take root even after hardship.
