Flowers are calling

Flowers Are Calling (2015), written by Rita Gray and illustrated by Kenard Pak, follows the interactions between different flowers and the animals that visit them. Each page introduces a new flower species, showing how its shape, color, and scent attract certain creatures, such as bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The flowers “call” to the animals, inviting them to drink nectar or collect pollen. Some animals, like bears or rabbits, ignore the flowers, while others respond and move from one bloom to another. The narrative moves through various flowers and pollinators, showing how each relies on the other for survival. The story presents a sequence of natural interactions, depicting the movement of animals among flowers and the seasonal rhythm of blooms, demonstrating the variety of ways flowers and creatures coexist in their shared environment.
